When Elijah Wilson started walking, his parents noticed he had a limp. They asked doctors about the it, but they were repeatedly told Elijah would just grow out of it.
Eventually, the family happened to move and established care with an IU Health doctor. This provider listened to their concerns and got an x-ray for Elijah.
The x-ray revealed Elijah has a dislocated hip. Elijah was referred to the Riley Children’s Health orthopedic surgery team due to hip dysplasia.
He underwent a major surgery to address the condition. Now, he’s in a spica cast which goes from above his belly and down his leg.
