Dr. Daniel F. Drake is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in:

  • Pediatric spine deformity
  • Pediatric orthopedic trauma
  • General pediatric orthopedic conditions

He attended medical school at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine, and residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania. Following his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital, Drake began practicing in 2015 and joined Riley Children’s Health in 2021.

Drake became a pediatric orthopedic surgeon due to his interest in the complexity of treating conditions such as spinal curvatures, lower extremity deformities and fractures. He considers himself privileged to work with children who want to be as active and healthy as possible. As these appointments can have vulnerable moments, he strives to be a positive influence for the patient and family.

When seeing him for the first time, he will ensure that your concerns are heard and you receive a clear understanding of your child’s current condition. Most importantly, he will ensure you and your child are an active member of the care team and establish reasonable expectations within the treatment plan in order for your child to regain as much mobility and function as possible.

Outside of caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, visiting family, physical fitness, cooking and exploring new restaurants.
