Kirstan K. Meldrum, MD, FAAP

Dr. Kirstan Meldrum is a professor of urology at Indiana University and has been practicing pediatric urology since 2002. Dr. Meldrum has extensive surgical experience in the management of complex pediatric urologic conditions and is nationally recognized for her NIH funded basic science research. She has received first-place recognition for her work from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Meldrum is a graduate of Smith College and earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She completed her urology residency at Indiana University in 2000, and her fellowship in pediatric urology at Johns Hopkins University in 2002. Dr. Meldrum was a faculty member at Riley Hospital for Children and the Director of Pediatric Urologic research from 2002-2012. Prior to her return to IU in 2022, Dr. Meldrum served as the chief of pediatric urology at the University of Florida, the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, and most recently, at Central Michigan University in Saginaw, MI. Dr. Meldrum has published over 75 original manuscripts and several book chapters and has a particular interest in the surgical management of bladder exstrophy/epispadias, neuropathic bladder, and congenital urinary tract abnormalities.
