Dr. Walsh is board-certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology and in clinical genetics. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine on a USAF HPSP scholarship, completed pediatric and neurology training at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children, then practiced as a neurologist and pediatrician in in the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB. He subsequently completed a clinical genetics fellowship and a three-year extramural NIH NRSA post-doc prior to joining the IU School of Medicine faculty full time in neurology, genetics, and pediatrics. He has been on faculty since completing his training. He was child neurology section chief for 17 years and residency program director for 18 years. He continues to be associate residency director.
